TUITION RATES (2017-2018)
Full tuition includes 40 lessons per calendar year or 20 lessons per semester. The first semester runs from August to December and the second semester runs from January through June. Tuition is based on semester payment plan broken into monthly payments, is non-refundable, and does not include registration or material fees. The registration deadline to receive the full forty lessons for the 2017-2018 school year, is September 8th, 2017. Students who enroll after the September 8th are subject to a tuition consisting of less than forty lessons and based on the following schedule:

16 Lessons - Must submit registration no later than MARCH 5th**
Bayou City School of Music accepts students throughout the year. The final day to enroll in a tuition based lessons program for the 2017-2018 school year with Bayou City School of Music is March 5th, 2018.
**Customers who enroll after March 5th of 2018 are not subject to the same contractual obligations as those who enroll prior to March 10th. While still required to pay a registration fee and a single materials fee, students who enroll after this date are only contractually obligated to pay for four lessons a month through June of 2018. Students enrolled in this period may discontinue lessons at any point but subject to the same policies regarding lessons and lesson termination. Students who enroll during this time and desire to continue lessons after July 1st, 2018 must submit a new registration form for the 2018-2019 school year before prior to September 1st, 2018.
Open enrollment for the 2017-2018 school year begins August 1, 2017.
LESSON OPTIONS OFFERED FOR SBISD CHOIR STUDENTS
- 1/2 Hour Private Lesson - $82/billed monthly
**Student receives one thirty minute lesson per week**
- Hour Private Lesson - $164/billed monthly
**Student receives one sixty minute lesson per week**
FOR STUDENTS WHO WISH TO PAY FOR ENTIRE SEMESTER UP FRONT OR AN ENTIRE YEAR:
- FALL 2017 SEMESTER TUITION FOR 20 LESSONS INCLUDING REGISTRATION AND MATERIALS FEES: $460.00
- FALL 2017 & SPRING 2018 COMBINED SEMESTERS TUTION RATE INCLUDING REGISTRATION, MATERIALS, & SPRING RECITAL FEES: $1740.00
**PLEASE NOTE STUDENTS ENROLLED IN CHOIR SPRING BRANCH ISD SCHOOLS RECEIVE A DISCOUNTED HOURLY RATE of $41.00/HOUR OR $20.50/HALF-HOUR. ANY LESSON GIVEN OFF CAMPUS AT THE BCSOM STUDIO IS SUBJECT TO A DIFFERENT TUITION RATE OF $60/HOUR.
REGISTRATION AND MATERIAL FEES
- A registration fee of $30 is required with the first month's payment.
- A materials fee of $20 is required once each semester for students enrolled in private lessons to cover the cost of sheet music and all other necessary lesson materials during a semester. Material fees are assessed with December and June tuition payments.
Tuition is set up by a recurring ACH or debit/credit card processing on the 15th of each month. The customer must provide payment information at the time of lesson registration. In the event that a check is returned there is a $25 returned check fee. Any declined card payment will be assessed a fee of $15. Receipts for lesson payments are provided upon the request of the individual and must be submitted by email.
Regarding the schedule of automatic payments, please note that upon submitting registration the student is contractually agreeing to a tuition (not including registration and materials fees) that includes a specific number of lessons, depending upon on the date Bayou City School of Music receives the lesson registration. Please refer to the table above for the specific number of lessons included in the tuition based on a given month's registration deadline.
The final tuition payment for students enrolled in the 2017-2018 year prior to March 5th will be drafted on June 15th, 2018. Please refer to the section Lesson Termination Policy, for further details about how to cancel recurring payments and discontinue lessons.
**FOR SBISD CHOIR STUDENTS ONLY **
Students enrolled in a choir program in Spring Branch ISD, who wish to opt out of the online monthly automatic payments have the option to pay for an entire semester or the full year's tuition at the start of lessons in Fall. If a student does not wish to pay for the entire semester or year at the start of lesson in the Fall, then the student must submit an online registration form as well as a digital payment in the form of ACH, debit card and or credit card through the website for automatic monthly recurring payments.
A $10 credit will be applied to the referrers account for every individual paid student enrollment. The credit will be applied on the billing cycle following the month of the paid referee enrollment. There is no limit to the number of Refer-a-Student credits a referrer can receive.
LESSON CANCELATION POLICY
- In the event a student must cancel a scheduled lesson and in order to be eligible for a make-up lesson, the studio must be notified either by email at email@example.com, or by phone/text at (979) 373-1009, twenty-four hours before the scheduled lesson date and time.
- Lessons cancelled with less than twenty-four hours notice will be deemed as a "no-show" and are not eligible to be made-up at a later date.
- In the case of illness, notice must be provided no later than 8:00am the day of a scheduled lesson time.
Students eligible for a make-up lesson may attend an alternative lesson time per the following schedule:
Make up lessons will be offered two Saturdays per semester.
Students will only be allowed two make-up lessons per semester due to instructor availability.
No refunds are permitted for missed lessons or cancelled lessons deemed as "no show."
In the event that an instructor cancels a lesson, an equivalent make-up lesson will be provided by the end of the semester.
It is the customer’s responsibility to request and schedule all make-up lessons. Customers understand that they must pay for all missed lessons whether a rescheduled lesson date/time was provided or not. If a rescheduled lesson is missed, the student will forfeit that lesson time.
From time-to-time, we may need to modify - temporarily or permanently - a student’s regular lesson time/date. If this becomes necessary, a mutually agreeable alternative lesson time/date will be found. Bayou City School of Music reserves the right to modify, change, or alter all students’ schedule if necessary.
All students shall be available to start their lessons at the designated date and time. Students arriving late will have their lesson shorted to allow the next lesson to begin on time. There are no refunds or credits for students arriving late.
REFUSAL OF SERVICE
Bayou City School of Music reserves the right to refuse service to any students. Bayou City School of Music reserves the right to teach all students based on its methods, procedures and policies.
Customers/students agrees to waive any claim or claims of liability against Bayou City School of Music for any injury whatsoever, either out of accident, illness, or injury, while on its premises or attending activities at the Bayou City School of Music.
LESSON TERMINATION POLICY
In order to discontinue lessons and cancel recurring monthly tuition payments students must provide notice thirty days prior to their next payment draft date. No refunds are given for remaining monthly tuition payments.
**SBISD Students who wish to terminate lessons that have paid up front for an entire semester are eligible for not eligible for refund of the remaining lesson tuition unless they have paid upfront for the entire year. For students who have paid up front for the entire year and terminate lessons in the Fall, a refund for the remaining Spring semester tuition will be issued. Students who have paid upfront for an entire year's tuition and wish to terminate lesson in the Spring will only receive a refund for the remaining lesson tuition by terminating lessons no later than February 1st, 2018.
Recitals are a very important part of our studio. There will be two annual recitals, one in the Winter and one in the Summer.
- There is a $30 recital fee per recital, per student. This assessed and debited for the monthly tuition payments for December and June. If a student cannot attend a scheduled recital the $30 recital fee will not be debited from the students account.
HOLIDAYS AND CALENDAR
Please review our current calendar for closure dates and special events. It is the customer's responsibility to know the closed and open dates for lessons and classes.
In the event of school closures due to inclement weather, please visit our website and look for emails about studio closures.

Security is a big concern for many studios, as it should be whenever you're storing important information on the Internet.
